Even when something is hard, I still like it. It has been a pleasure and privilege to be part of the vibrant learning community that is Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong. The children are a fun, enthusiastic, motivated and inquisitive group who all possess a love of learning. We have been on an incredible learning journey together in what has been an absolutely fantastic year of achievement for everyone in 2E!
There have been many highlights during the course of the year. Some of these will have been personal goals which have been achieved, others collective memories made together participating in lessons, activities and events. For myself, I will always be appreciative of the welcome that I received from both the children and the parents on my first day of term.
For the children, the holistic education provided by the school ensures that they will be taking away a multitude of highlights at the end of the year. For others, they might remember all of the inter-House sporting events that have been spread across the year. I hope the children have had as wonderful a year as I have had and wish them the best for the future, wherever they find themselves in the world next year.

The children in 3A have consistently impressed me with their enthusiasm, determination and hard work. They have learnt so much, made fantastic progress and shown how grown up and mature they can be. One of the highlights of the year was our residential trip to Sai Kung where it was great to see all of the pupils in a different setting to the classroom.
Every single child tried their best at all of the activities even though most of them were new experiences. I saw great team work, communication and lots of new friendship develop which made me feel really proud to be their teacher. Other highs have included our Greek and Roman Days where we all dressed up and took part in a range of activities such as creating mosaics, designing Roman jewellery and learning about the food they would have eaten.

Who could forget dressing up as Greeks and Romans and designing jewellery, shields and writing Myths about our very own disgusting and gruesome creatures?
Or our trip to the Botanical Gardens to learn about the beautiful animals of Asia and beyond? Of course, a highlight was the residential trip to Sai Kung. It was an amazing experience for all and it was wonderful to see them support each other throughout the residential. They really are a close-knit group of friends. Good luck in Year 4! Andrew B.

You are a class full of amazing characters who have really developed as the year has progressed.
You have all become much more confident and independent and your brilliant personalities are now really shining through. Your respect and consideration for each other has gone from strength to strength showing you are ready to tackle any challenges you face moving into Year 4 and beyond. There have been some wonderful highlights this year. Your acting, singing, dancing and performing music in the Year 3 production was outstanding - the Kung Fu dance was a personal highlight!
Our Greek and Roman days were other amazing experiences with jewelry design, shield design, column and structure building, Greek alphabet writing, Roman numerals, Roman fashion designing, and mosaic creating that really brought the curriculum to life. The first stay-away-from-home residential was also a big success. You all threw yourselves into the experience, conquering some big first-time challenges along the way - kayaking, catapult building, camp skills to name just a few.
It was great to see how you all grew as a result of the experience. The 3E class assembly was another great highlight and you wrote, produced and performed it phenomenally well. It has been a pleasure to be your teacher this year and to be part of your journey through the school.

We never have a dull day as there are so many pupils who love life and learning. The trip to Cheung Chau was certainly memorable and gave us an opportunity to become more independent and responsible. The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting new friends from different year groups and challenging themselves to tackle new activities. Our barbeque dinner was a particular highlight as we got to roast marshmallows - a real treat at the end of a busy day. Throughout the year, 4A have embraced all their learning with great enthusiasm, from our Chocolate theme in Term 1 when we made truffles, to our current Harry Potter unit of work.
Best of luck 4A! Mavis C. Jasmine K. Asia T. I love eating chocolates. I particularly liked the Great Race! There are so many larger-than-life personalities in the class, and this has certainly shone through in our drama work. It was fantastic to see the children perform with such confidence, expression and intonation during both our Poetry Performance and our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed assembly.
The children have approached their learning with enthusiasm, developing their team work, problem-solving and designing skills through exciting projects such as making their own chocolate bars and building Viking settlements. A particular highlight of the year has been our residential trip to Cheung Chau, where the children developed their independence, built new friendships, and were able to sample new activities such as coasteering and fire building.

We have also been so lucky to have been joined by some new children and to have developed new friendships throughout the year. Each and every one of you has been a pleasure to teach and it has been so wonderful watching you mature, develop and grow as the year has gone on. It has been brilliant to explore different topics in Science such as Electricity and Teeth.
For me the highlight, as it always is, has been to observe the learning that has gone on outside the classroom. The Year 4 production was a wonderful showcase of the variety of theatrical talents and persistence and determination in learning lines. The inter-House Singing Competition displayed our musical talents, competitiveness and confidence. Our residential trip to Cheung Chau was brilliant and it was so pleasing to see how far 4C had come since the beginning of the year.
To see children overcoming homesickness, facing challenges, developing friendships and approaching every day with a positive attitude made me and Miss Cheung feel immensely proud. I know that 4C have enjoyed the year as much as I have. I wish you all the very best of luck next year!

You have grown together as a team that Mr Holt and Miss Lau are incredibly proud of! We look forward to watching you grow and learn together in Year 5 and beyond. Good luck in Year 5 — I have no doubt that you will all be amazing! Rayyan A. Charlotte H. Ishaan S. I loved sleeping with my friends! My favourite lesson was definitely Maths; the sums were so fun! All in all, I loved Year 4, the teachers, friends and much more! My favourite part was the performances such as the Year 4 poetry production, and the Christmas Concert where the choir performed songs.
I like pretty much everything related to class, music, and performing. I also liked Books and Buns because the cakes were delicious and the books were absolutely amazing and good. My favourite part was caving. I have loved Year 4 because it is a lot of fun. I also loved making new friends and I loved being like a journalist and writing a report about the Iron Man.
I like this school! The best things were the chess tournament and the residential because I got to be with my friends and was able to make new friends. Year 4 has been a great journey! It has been great to see the them develop academically and socially throughout the year. They are curious, persevering and creative learners who have worked well individually and in teams.
These children are talented actors and singers - their class assembly on rainforests was fantastic! I was also very impressed with their Robin Hood and Iron Man poetry performance. In Science, they have enjoyed a range of investigations teeth, sound pitch and volume, states of matter or electrical circuits, to name a few and reached some interesting conclusions.
They have also been effective problem solvers in Maths, Science and Theme challenges. In STEAM projects, these engineers created an effective pipeline to transport water as well as designed and constructed realistic models of settlements and castles.
The children have been a delight to teach and I wish them all every success as they move to Year 5! Ashley A. Isher J. Ruby S. I also liked the class assembly because I got to show my Drama skills. International Day was fun because I got to try new food.
It was epic! I also really enjoyed our class poetry performance because it involved a lot of creativity. Class 5A Mrs Doherty This has been a year full of challenges, new experiences, laughter and learning. In the first term, during our Year 5 Poetry Showcase, the children blew everyone away with their performance of The Charge of the Light Brigade which they performed in a round - a challenge for even your most seasoned performer.
Shortly after, 5A showed that they could raise the bar even higher during their Remembrance Day class assembly. This was a serious subject and the class demonstrated unbelievable maturity, with impressive public speaking skills, rivaling children twice their age. There were countless highlights in the spring term. The children loved International Day with the fashion show and food sampling being among the favourites of the day!
Our trip to Taiwan had to have been another highpoint. It was planes, trains and automobiles for five action-packed days. The children learned all about Taiwan and did tons of great activities: visited the Taipei ; made aboriginal art; met the local tribes; watched an aboriginal dance performance; shopped till we dropped at the night market; and trekked around Taroko Gorge, just to name a few!
The children ended the year with a short but fun-filled Summer term. We particularly enjoyed the Discovery Dome in which the children got to explore space through the digital planetarium. Training to be real astronauts was also a lot more challenging than we expected - wow! What an unforgettable year! The children have worked hard, learned a lot, made new friends and said goodbye to old ones. We have had new and exciting experiences and have made memories which will last a lifetime.
I have no doubt that this remarkable group of children will continue to impress us as they take their final step of their Primary School journey into Year 6. Cheryl A. Saffron H. Andrew L. I bought yummy bubble milk tea! Class 5B Mr Speed In 5B we have enjoyed a busy year full of the joys of learning, friendships and more than a little fun! Of course, our biggest highlight of the year was our residential visit to Taiwan. It helped our class to be more independent, enriched our lives and broadened our horizons.
It was wonderful to see how mature and sensible the class were as they raised funds by selling the sweet potato treats to members of the public using their mandarin skills - very Impressive! At the start of the year, our main focus was on our poetry reading performance.
Performing in the round, ensured we were up close and personal with our audience and this allowed us to really deliver an emotional showstopper when we came together to recite The Charge of the Light Brigade. Truly a memory to cherish. I will miss our Friday afternoon discussions and debates. I wish you well moving into next year and I hope you each take these great memories with you into the future. Mila A. Adrian L. Serena S. We were always together and laughed so much. We liked our rooms and spent all night chatting and jumping on the bed instead of sleeping!
While we were participating we had lots of fun! It was a big achievement that we all have proud memories of. We all enjoyed the wonderful experience, but the best bit was eating healthy bananas for extra energy! We got to learn about about lots of different cultures, eat different types of food, win prizes and play fun games.
It was a very joyful event and we hope to do it again next year! We got to lay down and it was like we were on a real space voyage. We learnt interesting facts that helped our studies. The best part was finding out the results after all our hard work. What a fun and challenging year it has been for 5C. Emerging from this year are 24 inquisitive, enthusiastic, risk-taking and talented young individuals who are ready to embrace the next year that lies ahead.
Our poetry showcase on the theme of Superheroes at the start of the year was a huge success — it was the first time anything like this had been executed and the students loved it. The rendition of Charge of the Light Brigade was performed with fierce passion and it was clear that they had truly connected with the poem.
Our first overseas residential trip to Taiwan was certainly memorable, with Year 5s jetting off on an aeroplane in their brightly coloured yellow T-shirts - they certainly stood out! Another highlight was our 5C class assembly in which we showcased our trip highlights, performing our own poems and raps. In the final term, we had plenty of fun in the Discovery Dome where students learnt about the magic of Space within a huge, inflatable planetarium.

We got to make gummy DNAs! The Battle of Britain egg drop was great. Mrs Kiszka-Rhodes was also a very fun teacher to learn with. The residential was a great week for me and my roommate. The best thing about it was the Wipeout Course and staying away from home with my friends! We had a wonderful teacher and some new students.
My favourite time was residential where I shared the room with my friends Elena and Gabrielle. Some of the highlights included our class assembly, the Year 6 production, Sports Day, constructing our superhero costumes and of course, our actionpacked trip to Kanchanaburi in February. You were able to showcase the fantastic learning that we had been doing in class and add a wow factor that thrilled and entertained the whole school as well as your parents.
Even though you urged your house teams on during each sporting event, your sense of class and house camaraderie was evident all the way through. A few of the students who excelled during their events were Bowen, Kiara, Orlando, Will and Jonathan — who literally raised the bar higher and higher during the high jump!
In Term 1, we designed and constructed our own superhero costumes. It was a chance to display abilities that we do not see during our usual lessons. I loved seeing how skilled Tiana, Randy, Tavleen, Anita and Yvette were at designing their costumes Our trip to Kanchanaburi created lasting memories. For some of you, it was your first time going to a foreign country without your family.
One high point of the trip was bathing the elephants, an opportunity which Christian, Hampton, Santiago, Lianna and Alan bravely threw themselves into. The climax of our year was the Year 6 Production. Each and every one of you worked tirelessly to create a breath-taking spectacle. It was a fitting end to the year and proof that you are all ready to move on to your next challenge in life!
Emily A. Yvette E. Tavleen S. It has been quite a journey we have been on together. I have been so impressed by how you have all worked together as a team; you have shown cooperation, consideration for one another and a real team ethic. You have all become much more independent learners during your time in Year 6. It has been a pleasure to have taught you all. I remember our amazing residential and our class assembly which you all delivered with spectacular precision, dazzling the audience with a magnificent display of acting, singing and comedy.
I also recall our trips and theme days with fond memories, such as our adventure to the History Museum, our DNA day, our STEAM superhero day and International Day where it was fantastic to see you all dressed up in different costumes from around the world. Overall, it has been an absolutely brilliant year and you should all be looking forward to the challenge that awaits you in Year 7.
I wish you all the best for the future and hope that you have as much fun in Secondary as we have had this year in 6C. Isaac C. Dharen H. Sasha P. They were great fun. Class 6D Ms Penrose What a fantastic year we have had in 6D — packed full of learning, amazing experiences and lots of fun and laughter. There are so many highlights which created memories the children will be able to treasure for years to come.
Throughout their time in Year 6, all the class displayed great perseverance, creativity and collaboration, and it has been a pleasure to watch them grow personally, socially and academically. A particular highlight was the residential trip to Thailand. The children absolutely loved feeding, bathing and caring for the elephants in the sanctuary they visited, ensuring they demonstrated care and compassion.
They also displayed incredible empathy when visiting Kanchanaburi Cemetery and Hellfire Pass, where they wrote emotive poetry about the events which took place there. Finally, the water Wipepout Course was tackled, and there was not one face without a huge, beaming grin at the end of it.
There have been so many other events which 6D have enjoyed too: DNA Day where the children spent the day as renowned scientists; a visit to the Hong Kong Museum where we consolidated our knowledge of World War 2; dressing up as superheroes for a STEAM challenge; participating in class and year group productions, as well as listening avidly to the many visitors who have come to share their expertise and experiences — remember the visit from the Holocaust survivor?
